Masdar City Free Zone is part of Masdar City, a sustainable urban development in Abu Dhabi between the capital and Dubai. The free zone licenses technology and innovation companies and leases commercial space, including Masdar City Square, a cluster of seven commercial buildings with 50,000 square metres of floor area. Its site says the buildings use 40% less energy and water than similar buildings and are built with low-carbon cement and 90% recycled aluminium, and that the city targets net zero by 2050.
