Coworking for mainland companies
A mainland Dubai licence needs a lease registered in Ejari, so a coworking membership on its own is not enough. Business centres can lease units of at least 100 sq ft to licensed companies, each with its own Ejari contract.14
Before you sign
- Check that the desk is accepted by the authority that issues your licence. Every DMCC company needs a registered office in DMCC, and the number of visas depends on the office size and the licence.
- Count the hours: some flexi desks give 4 or 10 hours a week, others only 1 hour a month.
- Plan the visas first, then the desk. Moving to a smaller desk can mean cancelling visas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a coworking desk be my company address in Dubai?
In most free zones, yes: a flexi desk or coworking membership from the zone counts as the registered office. A mainland licence needs a lease registered in Ejari.
