The CBUAE kept the rate on its Overnight Deposit Facility unchanged after the US Federal Reserve held its interest on reserve balances rate.

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has kept its Base Rate, the rate on its Overnight Deposit Facility, unchanged at 3.9%, it said on 28 October 2026. The decision followed the US Federal Reserve's decision to hold its interest rate on reserve balances.

The CBUAE also kept the rate for borrowing short-term liquidity from it through its standing credit facilities at 50 basis points above the Base Rate.

The Base Rate is anchored to the Federal Reserve's interest rate on reserve balances, signals the general stance of monetary policy and provides an effective floor for overnight money market rates in the UAE, the CBUAE said. Its previous move was a 25 basis point increase to 3.9% on 16 September 2026.

Because the Base Rate tracks the Federal Reserve, the next change in UAE policy rates will most likely come with the Fed's next decision. Borrowers with floating-rate loans and mortgages can follow the CBUAE's announcements on its website.
