Income grew 15% to AED 42.2 billion and loans rose 27% to AED 833 billion, helped by the addition of India's RBL Bank.

Emirates NBD reported profit before tax of AED 24.3 billion for the first nine months of 2026, up 4% year on year, the Dubai Media Office said on 21 October. Income rose 15% to a record AED 42.2 billion and operating profit before impairment grew 14% to AED 29.0 billion.

Gross loans increased 27% since the start of the year to AED 833 billion, including the addition of RBL Bank in India; excluding RBL Bank, loan growth was 18%. Deposits rose 19% to AED 935 billion, or 12% excluding RBL Bank. Total assets reached AED 1.38 trillion. The bank provided AED 174 billion of new lending, with retail loans up 17% and corporate loans up 22%.

Third-quarter profit before tax was AED 8.0 billion. The cost of risk was 37 basis points and the impaired loan ratio improved to 2.0%. Impairment allowances of AED 2.1 billion were mainly driven by provisions at DenizBank in Turkey, partly offset by recoveries in the UAE.

"Profit before tax rose 4% to AED 24.3 billion in the first nine months of 2026, despite higher impairment and hyperinflation charges," said Patrick Sullivan, Group Chief Financial Officer. Group Chief Executive Shayne Nelson pointed to "broad-based growth across our core markets".

Results from the UAE's large banks are a useful guide to credit conditions in the economy. Emirates NBD's loan and deposit growth suggests lending to UAE households and companies continued through the regional disruption.
