About Meylas

Meylas is an Emirati restaurant in the Al Muneera neighbourhood of Al Raha Beach, Abu Dhabi, founded by Emirati entrepreneur Shaikha Al Kaabi. Its site says she was inspired by her mother to open it, and that the name is the Emirati dialect word for majlis, where family and friends gather. The MICHELIN Guide, which includes Meylas in its selection, notes that it began as a food truck before becoming an all-day eatery with an open kitchen. The menu covers traditional breads such as chabab, rigag and khameer, balaleet, saffron vermicelli with eggs, and mains such as shrimp cooked with traditional spices over rice, all made with fresh ingredients of Emirati origin.
