Legal status
Under the 2009 law the university is funded partly from the general budget of the Government of Dubai. Law No. 9 of 2014 renamed it Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University. It is listed among Dubai government entities under the emirate's human resources law, which does not apply to its academic staff.1,2,4
Study
Programmes run through the School of Business and Quality Management and the School of e-Education, among others. The ministry licence runs from 19 August 2025 to 18 August 2029.3
