History
The university was set up by the Ras Al Khaimah Human Development Foundation. It started with 22 students on the MBBS programme in 2006 and added dentistry, pharmacy and nursing degrees in 2007. In February 2009 it moved from Burairat to a new campus next to Sheikh Saqr Hospital. A six-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) replaced the MBBS from September 2022.2,3
